Research Spotlight: The Internet of Cars

The research of IDS lab on connected and automated vehicles was featured in UDaily. Connected and automated vehicles are cars that use sensors, cameras, and advanced control algorithms to adjust their operation to changing conditions with minimal or no driver input while also sharing with other vehicles information about location, speed, direction, etc. Research into developing control and learning algorithms for them will fundamentally change how cars interact on the road in order to maximize fuel efficiency while ensuring vehicle safety.
